UI Color Palette 4.2.0
The WCAG-Compliant Color Palette Suite
Key Feature
- A Preview feature lets you see color scaling in real-time before applying changes to the document canvas. You can check contrast scores (WCAG 2.1 and APCA), switch color spaces, and test different vision impairments. This improves both performance and Figma file organization.
- Source colors can be locked and incorporated into the color scaling, with the closest shade being replaced by the source color. This helps preserve brand identity.
- The chroma can be adjusted alongside the lightness scale to control shade saturation. All source colors' chroma values shift uniformly, though individually edited chroma values remain unchanged.
Improvements
- Added a new scaling algorithm that provides smoother chroma calculations through sinusoidal and hyperbolic functions, complementing the existing linear and sinusoidal options.
- Streamlined style management by allowing exclusive palette linking for local styles, configurable in preferences.
- Refined variable collection handling with optional exclusive palette connections, configurable in preferences.
- Added customizable real-time synchronization options between configuration and palette through preferences. This improves color scaling performance if you use the preview to review changes before applying them to the document canvas.
- Added a list of all palettes on the current page, with one-click navigation.
- Added keyboard shortcuts for adjusting the lightness scale during palette creation.
- Added new easing functions for distribution, including smooth sine-based transitions (in, out, in-out), standard easing curves, and quadratic easing for dynamic distribution.
Minor Changes
- Enhanced user feedback with clearer messages during variable and style synchronization.
- Improved dropdown behavior to maintain visibility when interacting with separators and titles.
- Preserved configuration settings after unselecting colors during palette creation.
- Added loading indicators for key operations like synchronization and palette management.
- Optimized palette updates to minimize unnecessary processing.
- Restructured name field with intuitive default naming.
- Added contextual tooltips for slider distribution controls.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed cursor visibility issues during custom mode creation.
- Improved slider handle behavior for consistent cursor display while dragging.
- Enhanced error handling to prevent announcement rendering during database errors.
